Privacy Policy
The short version. Sukki keeps your journal on your iPhone. We don't run servers that receive your entries, and we don't use analytics, ads, or tracking. The only time your writing leaves your phone is when you tap Help. Then the current session goes straight to OpenRouter, the AI service you connect with your own API key.
This policy covers the Sukki iPhone app and this website. Sukki is made by LaBounty Labs, LLC ("we", "us"). Questions go to [email protected].
What stays on your device
- Your journal. Situations, thoughts, feelings, ratings, and balanced responses are saved in the app's storage on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to us.
- Your OpenRouter API key. If you add one, it is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- Settings. Preferences such as the AI model and whether Face ID lock is on are stored on your device.
- Face ID. If you turn on the lock, iOS handles Face ID. Sukki only learns whether unlocking succeeded. We never receive your face data.
- Safety check. Sukki looks for crisis language in what you write, entirely on your device, so it can show support resources such as 988. Nothing is sent anywhere for this check.
Your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) may include the app's data, under Apple's terms and your backup settings.
What leaves your device: Help
Help is optional. When you tap it, Sukki sends the text of your current session (what you've written so far in that session) and the step you're on directly from your iPhone to OpenRouter. It is authenticated with the API key you provided. OpenRouter passes the request to the AI model selected in Settings. By default that is an Anthropic Claude model, so Anthropic also processes the request.
We don't receive these requests or their responses. Their handling is governed by your agreement with OpenRouter and by the model provider's policies. See OpenRouter's privacy policy and Anthropic's privacy policy. Don't use Help if you aren't comfortable sending that session to those services.
What we don't collect
- No account, name, email, or phone number is required.
- No analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No location, contacts, photos, or health data.
- We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use your writing to train AI models.
Exporting and deleting
You can export one entry or your whole journal as Markdown through the iOS share sheet. Where it goes after that is up to you. You can delete individual entries, delete everything from Settings, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its data from your device.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and we keep them only as long as needed for that.
Beta testing
If you test Sukki through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports, device information, and any feedback you choose to submit with us. That is covered by Apple's privacy policy and the TestFlight terms. We use that information only to fix and improve the app.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics, or forms. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site.
Children
Sukki is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Almost everything Sukki handles lives only on your device, under your control. For anything else, email [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your writing is handled, we'll also say so in the app before it takes effect.
